When Karoline Christine Binnig was born on March 28, 1857, in Oberschefflenz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, her father, Wilhelm Binnig , was 26, and her mother, Karoline Klingman, was 21. She had seven brothers and four sisters. She died on August 1, 1857, within a year of her birth.
