Biography

John Birkett aka Burkett was born in 1665. He was the son of Nicholas. He died in 1728 at the age of 63.

The will of John Birket of Richmond County, in the Colony of Virginia, was dated 10th December 1718. He therein named his daughters;

1. Mary Brock, (plantation called the quarter)
2. Margaret Prat, (plantation where he lives)
3. Elizabeth White (plantation where George White now lives),
4. Ann Edmunds (plantation where Cornelius Edmunds now lives),
5. and his grandson John Jones, (a slave named Harry)

His will was proved 3 February 1719/20 in Richmond County Court.^[1]
