Biography

John was born in 1868 and baptised at St Germans, Cornwall on 07 Jun. He was the son of William Blackmore and Jane Northern.

On 03 Jun 1877 John, aged 9, leaves Plymouth, England on the 'Oaklands' for Port Adelaide, South Australia arriving 09 Sep 1877 with his parents William and Jane and 2 siblings.^[1]

John first marries Sarah Ann Haycroft at the residence of her parents in Brompton Park on 11 Jun 1891^[2] and they have the following children;

3. Horace Harold Blackmore (1896-1983)
4. Charity Rosina (Blackmore) Farnden (1898-1968)
5. James William 1901 - 1901
6. Bevis Edgar 1905

Sarah passes away in 1926^[4] and John secondly marries Una Roads (born Carey)^[5]

John 'Harry' passed away aged 94 at Kent Town, South Australia in 1962^[6] some 6 years before Una and they are buried in Hindmarsh Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia.

Three sons of Harry, John, James and Stanyon, are also buried at Hindmarsh with their mother, Sarah.
