During the Civil War Confederate soldiers were buried in a Confederate area adjacent to the National Cemetery on lots purchased by private citizens and maintained by Cave Hill Cemetery.
When these lots became full, in 1865 these soldiers were buried in the National Cemetery. This is one of those soldiers.
