William was born in 1858. He was the son of Leonard Blake and Emily Tibbets. He was the Master of a merchant sailing ship. By age 71, he was semi-retired as the owner of a "pleasure boat", no doubt catering to tourists. The 1931 Boothbay Directory lists him as "Yatchtsman".
He died in 1942, and is buried in Oceanview Cemetery in Boothbay Harbor.
He passed away in 1943.
