Biography

Jacob was born in 1911. He was the son of Bernard Blankleider and Eva Weinberg.^[1] He married Beatrice Cohen in 1935.^[2][3][4]

Jack died in 2007.^[5]

BLANKLEY, Jack London, England, June 24, 1911 - Los Angeles, CA, September 13, 2007. English gentleman of the old school, filled with wisdom, unflinching integrity and love. Leaves his devoted wife of 71 years, Trixie; loving children, Maggie (David) and Tony (Lynda); and treasured grandchildren, Spencer, Trevor and Ana. Violinist in London's West End Theatres, graduate of London School of Economics, accountant for Winston Churchill before WWII. Financial officer in Hollywood, CA with Columbia Pictures and International Creative Management. Played chamber music with sister, cellist Irene Kennedy, and played chess. Always devoted to family, and will be greatly missed. Services Monday, September 24th at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Chapel, Hollywood Hills, CA, 1 p.m. No flowers; donate to worthy cause.^[8]

Research Notes

Uncle Jack was my late father's brother and one of 10 children of my late Grandparents Berish and Chava Blankleider. Jack was born in London and changed his name from Blankleider to Blankley. He left London with Aunty Trixi (as she was called by the family) and they settled in Los Angeles where he, as an Accountant, became the Account Manager for Columbia Pictures for the movie Star Wars. He was also a viola player and played chamber music with his cellist sister, my Aunty Renie Kennedy who also emigrated from the UK to USA and lived nearby with her husband , my Uncle Sydney Katchky who was a violinist. Jack died in his late 90s.^[9]
