Biography

Harvey J Blevins was born on July 3, 1870[1] in Benton Co., Arkansas. He was the son of Silas Blevins and Martha Miser. (He later changed the spelling to Blevens.) In 1880, Harvey was 8 years old in his parent's home in Dayton, Newton co., Missouri, along with his siblings, Half-brother Hohn H 'Blevins-18, sister S. Ann-12, James-11, and Cynthia age one.[2]

He married Mary J 'Bradshaw in about 1891 in Missouri.[3] They nad 3 sons.

  3. William 'Edgar' Blevins (1897-) b. KA

They started out on their farm in Missouri where Herbert and Elbert were born. They moved to Kansas by 1900. In 1900, Harvey was a Farmer in Dale, Kingman Co., Kansas.[3] They migrated to Powers, Co., Colorado by 1920, where he was farming with the help of his son W. Edgar age 23.[4] They were still in Lamar, Powers Co., Colorado in 1930, where they lived on North 9th Street. [5] He was not farming at the time but their son William E. -33, who was living with them, was working at a flour mill.

He passed away at the age of 67, on February 11, 1938 in Lamar, Powers Co., Colorado, and was buried in the Fairmount Cemetery.[1]
