Biography
On November 30, 1879, Olof Blom married Kristina Ersdotter (b. Dec. 1, 1854), in Fröå. At this time he identified himself as ‘Olof Olsson Blom’. They had two children born in Åre socken: (1) Brita Karolina, born January 17, 1880; and (2) Olof Edvard, born March 6, 1882.
On June 10, 1882, Olof Olsson Blom took out a permit for the family to emigrate to America, dated June 10, 1882. Their destination (not noted) was Hancock, Michigan, where Olof’s younger brother Nils had settled in two years before, in 1880. Their tickets were purchased in America, probably by Nils Blom
