In 1830, Clifton resided in Mount Washington, Bullitt County, Kentucky. By 1840, he was living in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
In 1860, Clifton and his family lived near the Elizabethtown post office in District 3, Hardin County, Kentucky, where he earned a living as a farmer. By 1870, they had relocated to West Point, Hardin County, Kentucky, where Clifton continued his occupation as a farmer.
Clifton H. Bogard passed away on May 9, 1883, in Hardin County, Kentucky. He was laid to rest at Bogard Cemetery in Fort Knox, Hardin County, Kentucky.
