Alvin was born in 1914. His father passed away from TB in Nov 1916 after several months convalescing in Andover, NJ. His mother divorced his father and remarried to a brother - Charles Bogart - they later moved to Connecticut. Alvin was raised by his father's sister Florence Bogart (who never married). Florence was declared guarian on March 7, 1917. Alvin was age 2 years, eight months. Alvin graduated junior high in Westfield, NJ - June 8, 1929 and went to work at age fifteen.
He first married Alice Schade. He was 18 years old. They met in her father's ice cream store in downtown Westfield. They were divorced four years later. He worked for some time as a newspaper sportswriter. Joined the Army in WWII and served stateside in the Military Police. Married Adrienne Smith in 1943. After the war Alvin had a good job as a buyer for Graver Tank Manufacturing; he gave up that job when the company relocated to Buffalo, NY. Worked as a surveyor for J Wallace Higgins. Living for several years at 503 Chestnut Street, Roselle Park. Divorced circa 1956. He passed away in 1966 after a long illness at the Veterans Hospital in East Orange.
