Biography

Samuel was born in 1798. He passed away in 1832.

Samuel, the father of the subject of this sketch, was born in South Carolina, Dec 2, 1802, in early manhood married Elizabeth Davis, a native of Kentucky, but reared in Clermont county, and began his career as a blacksmith and gunsmith, his occupation throughout his life. He died at the age of thirty-two years, and afterward his widow removed with her six children - Lutitia, Mary, Jane, Eliza, Andrew M., and Bethana, to Highland county, where she lived to the age of ninety-three years.^[1]
