Biography

Joseph was born about 1808. He was the son of Abraham Boileau and Marguerite Fontaine.

About 1830, he married Mary Dumas (born about 1805 and died 29 Feb 1888) in Clinton County, New York, USA. They had at least two children: Joseph A. (born about 1830 and died 7 Jan 1913) and Stephen (born about 1844).

Joseph's occupation was noted as farmer. At the 1880 U.S. Census, his household included him, wife Mary, sister-in-law Eleanor Dumas, and grandson Stephen A. The 1870 census has an Eleanor Dumo listed as a domestic servant and Charles Danio as working on a farm, both born in Canada.

He passed away in 1896 and was interred at St. Joseph Cemetery in Coopersville, Clinton, NY.
