John was born in April of 1894 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He is noted in the 1900 Census with his parents and siblings as "Johnny". Between 1917-1918, John was in Washington County, Minnesota, where he was registere dfor the World War I draft. He married in 1920 in New Hampshire. While still in Keene, New Hampshire, John was registered for the World War II draft in 1942. He died in 1981 in Vermont.
