Samuel Bonum was born circa 1670, in Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, Virginia, a son of Samuel Bonum, who immigrated from Ireland, and his wife, Margaret Philpott, born in Maryland. When Samuel was about twenty years of age, he married Catherine, whose maiden name is not known. She was born circa 1674, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. [1]
Samuel Bonum wrote his Will on February 14, 1702 and named his three sons Samuel, Phillpott and Daniel as heirs to a tract of land containing 288 acres to be equally divided. [2]
