Thomas was born in 1788 and baptised 24 Aug 1788 at St Saviour, Southwark, Surrey, England.[1]
He married Frances Bond at St Saviour, Southwark on 25 Feb 1816.[2]
He became a corn chandler in Deptford, Kent. The first record of this is the notice of sale of a leasehold property where his business was located in 1819.[3]
In 1836, the London Gazette refers to an insolvent debtor whose divided is to be paid out at the house of Thomas Bowditch, High Street, Deptford.[4] Presumably Thomas himself was one of the creditors.
In the 1841 census, Thomas and his family were listed in King Street, Deptford.[5]
In the 1851 and 1861 censuses the street is described as Old King Street but the Bowditch family are still present.[6][7]
By the 1871 census Thomas had retired and was living at 1 New King St, Deptford.[8]
He died 3 Jul 1871 and was buried 11 Jul 1871 at St Giles, Camberwell. His will was proved 17 Oct 1871.[9]
