Biography

Angus was born in 1899 in South Kensington^[1], second son of Patrick Bowes-Lyon and Alice Wilshire.

On 31 Mar 1901, Census night in England, Angus was living in Onslow Gardens, Kensington, London^[1] with his parents (Patrick and Alice Bowes-Lyon), brother (Gavin), and 5 servants (Edith Gibson, Charlotte Beames, Loris Partridge, Ann Peobles, Ethel West).

Angus' family is much harder to track in the 1911 Census:

• No other family members are shown as living with his father Patrick in Sandwich, Kent
• His mother Alice is living in Minehead, Somerset with his two sisters (Jean, Margaret) and a servant (Emily Fisher). Note their name is recorded as "Bowes-Tyon"
• A census entry for his older brother (Gavin) has not been located
• Angus is a school boarder living in Broadstairs, Kent^[2]
