Biography

Bessie Alberta Boyer was born on 13 June 1896 in Oklahoma, daughter of William Benjamin Boyer (1864–1899) and Lucy Ellen Vanderford (1866–1950).[1] [2] [3] [4]

Her siblings were:

  1. Fred Augustus Boyer (09 June 1887 – 04 August 1964)
  2. Atha Zelma Boyer (16 January 1893 – 16 March 1932)
  3. Unnamed infant Boyer (22 March 1898 – 04 April 1898)

In 1900, Bessie (4) was living in Mustang Township, Canadian, Oklahoma Territory, United States[5].

In 1910, Bessie (14) was in the household of Montevill Harness in Estancia, Torrance, New Mexico. [1]

Bessie (16) married William Austin Allen (19) (born August 4, 1893) on 14 May 1913 in Haskell, Oklahoma[6][7]. Their son was Aubrey Nathan Allen (09 January 1914 – 27 February 1992)

Bessie (20) married John Benjamin Peters (27) (born January 26, 1889 in Arkansas; son of Stirling Peters (1862–1939) and Amanda Victoria Hatfield (1867–1909)) on 24 August 1916 in Crawford, Arkansas, United States [8] [9]. Their son was John Benjamin Peters (24 May 1917 – unknown)

In 1920, Bessie A (24) Peters was in the household of J Ben Peters living in Poteau, Le Flore, Oklahoma[2].

Bessie (26) married Harry Oliver Drake (30) (born May 12, 1893 in Canadian; son of John Wesley Drake (1854–1913) and Isabelle Spruce (1859–1944)) on 25 May 1923 in Cleveland, Oklahoma[10][11]. Their daughter was Jean Ila Drake (09 July 1924 – 12 October 2016)

In 1930, Bessie (34) was living with her husband, Harry, in Mustang, Canadian, Oklahoma. [3]

In 1940, Bessie (44) was living with her husband, Harry in Mustang Township, Canadian, Oklahoma[4].

In the 1950 census Bessie (age 53) was the wife of Harry O Drake in Mathewson Township, Canadian, Oklahoma, United States.[12]

Bessie died on 8 March 1985 in Texarkana, Miller, Arkansas, United States, aged 88[13]. She was buried in Kansas Cemetery, Piedmont, Canadian County, Oklahoma[14].
