Biography

A.E. was born on May 3, 1918, in Dexter, Arkansas, to Arnold and Grace Boyt. If she has a name beyond her initials, it's not clear from records; all known records to date say A.E. and nothing more. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

A.E. was enumerated for the federal census on January 5, 1920. She was 1 year old at this time, and was living with parents Arnold and Grace, brother William, grandmother Margaret Boyt, aunt Rosie Pipkins, and cousins Ludie Pipkins and Euclid and John Ussery, in Jefferson Township, Jefferson County, Arkansas. [1]

A.E. was enumerated for the federal census on March 31, 1930. She was 11 years old at this time, and was living with parents Arnold and Grace, and siblings William and Helen, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was attending school, and was noted to be able to read and write. [2]

In 1935, A.E. was inferred to be living in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. [3]

On July 3, 1936, A.E. was married to Millard Smith in Jefferson County, Arkansas, when she was 18 years old. [6]

A.E. was enumerated for the federal census on April 15, 1940. She was 21 years old at this time, and was living with husband Millard, step-son William, and sister Helen, in Niven Township, Jefferson County, Arkansas. She was noted to have a 10th grade education. [3]

A.E. was enumerated for the federal census on April 20, 1950. She was 31 years old at this time, and was living with husband Millard, step-son William, and children Wilma and Stephen, in West End, Arkansas. She was a homemaker. [4]

A.E. died on January 1, 2010, in Conway, Arkansas. She was buried on January 6, 2010, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. [5]
