Matt came to the United States from Austria. He also had an older brother, Charles born in 1880, Austria who came to America too. He married Rose Theresa Strukell August 23, 1910 in Victor, Teller, Colorado.They had eight children. He lived in Teller, Gunnison and Chaffee Counties, Colorado, also Raton, New Mexico before moving to Denver in 1930. He farmed in Chaffee County and worked for his brother in New Mexico as an alcohol distributor. He was only 58 when he passed away.
