Herbert Brace was born 23rd January 1895 in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England & baptised there 17th March 1895, the son of Charles Brace & Mary Ann Prior.^[1][2]

Following the outbreak of the Great War, Herbert Brace enlisted in the British Army & served as a Private with the 1st Battalion, Hertfordshire Regiment "C" Company. He died aged 21, whilst on active service on 18th July 1916 and was buried or commemorated at Longuenesse Souvenir Cemetery. St. Omer, Pas de Calaise, France.^[3]
