Lucy Jones is a part of US Black heritage.
Lucy was born in 1855. She was a slave on the Walnut Hill Plantation in Leon County, Florida. His enslaver was Thomas Anderson Bradford, founder of the planation, which was established about 1832. She most likely was born on the plantation. Her first name and date of birth were recorded in the plantation journal by Thomas' daughter, Sallie Bradford. It appears from the family grouping in the journal that she was the daughter of Rozella. Lucy's daughter, Bettie, was also listed with the family.[2]
