Biography

Benjamin was born about 1700 in Virginia. His parents were John Bradshaw and his wife Elizabeth. [1]

Benjamin married first about 1732 to a woman whose name is still unknown. By this first marriage he had three children: John, Judah Rodgers, a daughter who married Henry Lain and was deceased by 1758. [2]

His second marriage was to Anne McBride on 28 April 1753 in Goochland County Virginia. [3] [4] [5] They were the parents of four children. These children were Benjamin, William, Edward, and Mary Curd. [6]

Benjamin died before 11 July 1761 when the inventory of his estate was taken. [7] His will was written on 2 March 1758 and proved in court 18 August 1761.[8]

Benjamin's will was written prior to the births of his two youngest children. Since he never updated his will, shortly after his death, Ann wrote a deed of gift to her children. This deed makes provisions for her children out of the property that Benjamin gave her in their marriage contract. [9]
