The marriage of Miss Rosetta Brown, daughter of Captain Brown, of Batty-street, Balmain, with Mr. David Brand, marine engineer, son of the late Mr. David Brand, of Townsville, Queensland, took place at the Presbyterian Church, Balmain, on Wednesday, April 29. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. F. Blair, the church being crowded with spectators. The bride's dress was of white ivory silk trimmed with bebe ribbon, lace insertion, and sprays of orange blossoms with the bodice tucked ; her tulle veil was trimmed with Honiton lace, and arranged over a wreath of orange blossoms She also wore a gold bamboo bracelet, and carried a shower bouquet (gifts of the bridegroom). She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss J. Burt in Bishop's lawn tucked and trimmed with lace and insertion, and a black chiffon hat, and Miss G. Gibson in cream silk trimmed with lace, bebo ribbon, and silk insertion, and a hat to match. Both carried bouquets tied with blue ribbon, and wore bracelets (gifts of the bridegroom). Mr. R. McGregor acted as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at tho Oddfellows' Hall, Balmain. The hall was prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride, a handsome wedding bell being suspended in the centre of the hall where the wedding breakfast was served. A large number of guests was present. The presents, which were numerous and costly, were displayed on the stage. The bride's travelling dress was of black voile with a white satin hat.

The marriage took place on April 29th at the Presbyterian Church, Balmain, Sydney, by the Rev. John F. Blair, of David, eldest son of the late D. J. Brand, Esq., of Townsville, to Rostetta J. (Rose), youngest daughter of James Brown, Esq., Balmain.
