Biography
Parents were Joseph Brannan and Nancy Ann Bacon. Both are buried at the Fairview Cemetery, Jewell, KS.
The Brannans were apparently Scots-Irish and had come to Kansas from PA by way of Ohio where Thomas was born. They lived about 2 1/2 miles from the Schells in Jewell County.
Oral history is that Thomas died in Oklahoma, but unknown why he would have been away from his family. There is a grave record in present day Nowata, OK for a Thomas Brannan, b. 1852.
