The above information from Landen Schooler regarding the paternity of Anna Prince Mace has been disproved. There was never any evidence to support the theory, and the claim that Thomas Jefferson Brannan and Caroline Prince lived in the same home was contradicted by census records. Thomas lived with his sister and Caroline lived with her sister. DNA tests by multiple direct descendants of Thomas Jefferson Brannan and by at least one direct descendant of Anna Prince showed no relationship between the Brannans and the Princes. However, descendants of Caroline’s brother-in-law, in whose home she was living, did show a relationship between them and the Princes. Therefore, the claim is untrue and needs to be removed from trees.
