Johann "John" Branz was born on 26th November 1873 in Queensland, Australia. He was the eldest child of Prussian emigrants, Lorenz Branz and Elizabeth Blum. It would appear that John was conceived on the Reichstag, which made port in Queensland in July that year with both parents aboard.[1] John's parents movd south and settled in the Castle Hill district of Sydney's north west.
He married Annie Crane in 1912 at Parramatta, New South Wales.[2]
They retired to Point Clare, on New South Wales' beautiful Central Coast. John passed away there on 12th November 1943 and is buried in the Methodist section of Point Clare Cemetery.[3]
