In 1907, 1908, 1910, 1920, 1925, 1930, 1932, and 1933, Emmi is listed as a widow and as residing at Humboldtstraße 118, Hamburg 21.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] In 1934, 1935, and 1939, Emmi is listed as a widow and as residing at Humboldtstraße 27, Hamburg 21.[13][14][15]
Emmi took her own life on 3 Oct 1939.[16][17][18] Her family assumed that she was unable to face the reality of another war, having already lost a son in World War I. She was buried at Friedhof Ohlsdorf in Hamburg.
