Biography

Bethia (Bethiah) Breed was born on 30 Dec 1710 in Stonington, Connecticut. She was the tenth child of John Breed and Mercy Palmer. ^[1] She was baptized on March 19, 1711 at the First Congregational Church in Stonington. ^[2]

She is claimed to have married Matthew Watson, Esq. of Barrington, RI in The Essex Genealogist article by Marcia Lindberg. ^[3] This, however, is incorrect. Matthew Watson married Bethiah Reed, daughter of John Reed and Bethiah Cobb. ^[4] Bethia passed away about 1744. ^{[citation needed]}
