He had arrived in Canada in 1869 and in 1871, was in Dunwich, Elgin county, Ontario which is the area where met his second wife. William had twice sent money to Grace for her and their daughters to join him but for some reason, she never did.

(His 1st wife Grace Brock BRENT died at the age of 91 in 1934 -- she never remarried.)

His actual date of birth is NOT certain as there are no primary sources or records that confirm it either way.

In the 1901 Census, William gave it was February 16, 1844 and on his Death Record and FindAGrave (FAG) memorial, it is given as October 16, 1844 -- I've used simply 1844 but given the exact date of baptism within bio.
