Johann Michael was born on June 14, 1804 in Bisterchield, Pfalz, Germany. and baptized on June 17, 1804 in the Evangelisch (Evangelical Lutheran Church) in Ransweiler, Pfalz, Bavaria (Germany). He left Germany sometime in 1854 and departure from London, England abroad the American Congress and arrived in New YorK, New York on April 20, 1854 at the age of forty-nine. He had a brother, William Henry Bretches, who came to American in 1833 and was living in Shelby County, Ohio at the time. 1854 ---
