James, son of Robert Brewster & Mary Frazer, was born on 13 November 1829 and baptised on 19 December 1829 in Kilrenny, Fife, Scotland, United Kingdom.[1] James married Jane Bruce on 5 June 1858 in Ceres, Fife, Scotland.[2]

  • In the 1861 census, James (age 31), Ploughman, was the head of household at Ladeddie F House, Ceres, Fife.[3]
  • In the 1881 census, James (age 49), Agr. Lab., was the head of household in North Pitdinnie, Carnock, Fife.[4]
