David James Brice was born in 1837 in Thomas, Georgia, United States, son of Francis Brice (1804–1878) and Elizabeth Murphy (1805–1880).^[1][2]

David died on May 6, 1864 in Virginia, United States, aged 26. He was killed in action during the Battle of the Wilderness.^[3][4]
