Biography

George was born in Spaldington, Yorkshire, England, and baptised nearby in Bubwith in 1791. He was the son of John Broader and his wife Mary.^[1]

At the time of the 1841 census George lived in Spaldington where he was a farmer.^[2] In 1848 he married Elizabeth Cooper in Aughton, Yorkshire.^[3][4] The family remained in Spaldington in 1851;^[5] by 1861 George was an agricultural labourer.^[6]

George died in 1870 at the age of 80^[7] and was buried in Bubwith, Yorkshire.^[8]
