- Son of Jean-Baptiste Brodeur dit Lavigne (1748-1810) and Marie-Josephe Hébert (1755-1831), who were married 1772 in Varennes.
- Married Marie Senez (1782-1848) on 15 Oct 1804 at St-Mathieu, Beloeil. Variant spellings: Senez, Senes, Senet. She was the daughter of Charles Senez (1755- ) and Marie Dorothée Poudrette (1763-1793). Children:

Research Notes
- Christophe's birth record incorrectly lists Louis Brodeur dit Lavigne as his father. A probable explanation for this is that the register entry immediately preceding Christophe's baptism, also dated 31 Jul 1782, is for the interment of Marie Louise Lavigne, daughter of Louis Brodeur dit Lavigne.
- Confusion about birth date probably arises from a previous Christopher who was born 1780 and died as an infant that same year, or very early 1781. Likely this Christopher was born late in 1781 or in 1782.
