Mary was born about 1819, in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales. [1]
Mary Brookman married William Podger on 21 September 1850, at St Mary's Church, Islington, London.[2]
The 1871 Census shows William Podger and his family living in Oxford House, Downham Road, Islington East.[3]William Podger, aged 48, a gas meter maker, of Taunton, Somerset, was described as ‘Head’ of the household. The household included his wife, Mary Brookman, aged 52, of Chepstow, Monmouthshire, their son William Podger, 19, a clerk at the Stock Exchange, and Mary Podger, 16 and Annie Podger, 14, were both scholars.
She died at 6 Ashby Street, Clerkenwell, London, on 25 November 1887. [4]. She is buried at Chingford Mount Cemetery, Old Church Road, Chingford, London.[5]
