William Brown was a convict after the Third Fleet transported to New South Wales
William was a shoemaker.
William was born in 1801. He was the son of James Brown and Sarah Negus. He was baptized 24 May 1801 in Norwich.[1]
In 1820, at the age of 18, he was transported to New South Wales. He was tried in 1820 at Norfolk for larceny and sentenced to seven years. He arrive in Sydney December 1820 on the ship Elizabeth.
He was married to Elizabeth Catherine Foss 28 November 1825 at St. James Church of England, King Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.[2] They were the parents of eleven children: William, Henrietta, Mary Ann, James, Frederick, Sarah, Henry, Charlotte, Negus, John, and George.
His wife died 12 December 1854 at Cooks River, New South Wales.
He died at his home at Shellharbour, NSW, in 1872 at the age of 71,[3][4] and was buried in the old Shellharbour cemetery.[5]
