Biography

Sholto was born on 2 Dec 1879.^[1] He was the son of John Brown and Mary Eland. There is no first name on his registration record.^[2]

In 1911 he was living as a boarder in Sculcoates, Hull, in a boarding house run by his future mother-in-law, and working as a bank clerk.^[3][4]
