He married Mary Hyde on 23 October 1791 at Canterbury, Connecticut.[3] They were the parents of ten children: Lucius, Betsy, Isaac, Harriet, Samuel, Harvey, Mary Ann, Lucretia, Emily and Ebenezer.
Deliverance was a farmer. The family moved from Canterbury and first settled at Tunbridge, Vermont and lived there until about 1817. From there, the family moved to Chagrin, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
