Biography

Olive was born in 1817 in Mercer County, Kentucky. ^[1] She was the daughter of Michael Broyles and Elizabeth Blankenbaker. She married R H Gatewood on 23 Mar 1837 in Parke County, Indiana ^[2] where they were living three years later for the 1840 census. ^[3] They moved west to Hancock Township in Hancock County, Illinois ^[4] and then on to Monroe Township in Mahaska County, Iowa ^[5] where Olive passed away 27 Dec 1866. ^[1] Olive was the mother of eleven children.
