John was born in 1807 to Johann Brubeck and Elizabeth Bell. [1] He passed away in 1856.[2] Jacob took his own life. It was reported in "The Daily Dispatch" as follows:
Suicide--Mr. Jacob Brubeck, a respectable citizen of Augusta county, Va., committed suicide one day last week by hanging himself to the rafters of his barn, after an ineffectual attempt to kill himself by cutting his throat with a razor.[3]
John is buried at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church. [4]
