Biography
John was baptised on 21 September 1817 at All Saints' Church, Batley, Yorkshire, the son of Thomas and Mary Bruce.[1][2] His father was a Clothier.
He married Susey Ineson on 17 September 1838 at All Saints' Church, Batley. John Bruce, full age, bachelor, clothier, Batley, father Thomas Bruce, clothier. Susey Ineson, 20 years, spinster, Batley, father William Ineson, clothier. Both marked. Sole witness Thomas Ainley.[3][4]
John and Susannah Ineson had the following children;

John Bruce (aged 56), Widower and Gardener married Eliza Ann Skilbeck after Banns on 24 October 1874 at St Peter's Church, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.[18] The bridegroom's father, Thomas Bruce was a Gardener. Their marriage witnesses were James Warren and Hannah Taylor.
John and Eliza Ann Skilbeck had the following children;

John Bruce's death (aged 82) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1900 in the Dewsbury Registration District.[24]
