Gerrit Buys, 81, 1709 Front st., Lynden, died Sunday in Lynden.
He was born April 23, 1904, in the Netherlands. He had been a local resident since 1939.
Mr. Buys was a retired farmer, a member and former elder of the Third Christian Reforrned Church, and a member of the Ebenezer Christian School board of directors.
He moved to Minnesota from Holland in 1919 and married his wife, Elsie, on Feb. 22, 1931, in Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Third Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Gerrit Sheeres officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery.
