Cheshire - A private service will be held for Mildred Bulkley Andersen, 89, of the Cheshire Convalescent Center, who died Tuesday at St. Raphael's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Horace P. Andersen and formerly of Lansdowne Avenue, Hamden.

Burial will be private. Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Andersen was born in Norwalk Oct. 2, 1896, daughter of the late Henry R. and Alice Mayer Bulkley, and lived in Hamden most of her life. She was a member of Spring Glen Congregational Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Janet Larsen of Hamden and Karen Peterson of Landrum, S.C.; a son Lee Andersen of Hamden, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Irving Bulkley.
