Birth: Margaret was born June 3, 1799 in Pasquotank or Perquimans County, North Carolina. She was the second child of Moses Bundy and Elizabeth Jones, with an older brother and five younger siblings.^[1]

Marriage: Margaret married Miles Mendenhall on March 8, 1821 in Randolph County, North Carolina, age 21.^[2] The marriage document names her as "Margaret Bundy daughter of Moses Bundy and Elizabeth his deceased wife of Randolph County and state aforesaid [North Carolina]. The witnesses listed were Elias Henby, Anna Henby, Aaron Hill, Samuel Hill, Mary Hill, Isaac Mendenhall, Rachel Mendenhall [father and mother of Miles], Moses Bundy [father of Margaret], John Carter, Enoch Carter, Thomas Thornburgh, and Phebe Thornburgh.

Moved from North Carolina to Wayne County, Indiana in the early 1830s^[3]. They then moved on to Hendricks County some time in the late 1830s.

1850 Census: "Margaret Mendenhall," 51, was living in Clay Township, Hendricks County, Indiana with her husband Miles, 51, and children Sinai, 26, Nathan, 22, Rachael, 12, John, 13, and Caleb, 7. She was listed born in North Carolina.^[4]

1860 Census: "Margaret Mendenhall," 62, was living in Clay Township, Hendricks County, Indiana with her husband Miles, 63, and children John, 23, Caleb, 17, Sina, 35, and Rachel, 25. She was listed born in North Carolina.^[5]

1870 Census: "Margaret Mendenhall," 70, F, White, was living alone in Lynn Grove, Jasper County, Iowa. She was listed keeping house, real estate valued at $300, personal estate at $400, born in North Carolina, can't write.^[6]

1880 Census: "Margarett Mendenhall," 81, White, F, widowed, was living in Lynn Grove Township, Jasper County, Iowa with two young dressmakers - Melvina Butram, 23, and Nancy McGlasson, 27. She was listed born in North Carolina, both parents also born in North Carolina.^[7]

Death: Margaret died in 1881 at the age of 82 in Lynnville, Jasper County, Iowa. She is buried in the Friends Cemetery there.^[8]
