Biography

Hyatt was born about 1805. He was the son of Benjamin Bunn and Peggy Hyatt. He passed away in 1871.

Hyatt Burn married Elizabeth Hazzard before 1830 when their daughter, Margaret Ann Bunn, was born. They are both buried in Mount Olive Cemetery in Claremont, Richland County, Illinois.

Hyatt Bunn was born 5/8/1805 in Jeromesville, Wayne (now Ashland) County, Ohio to Benjamin and Margaret Elizabeth (Hyatt) Bunn. He was a big man, like his father, who was 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 225 pounds. He married Elizabeth "Betsey" Hazard on 6/22/1826 in Wayne County, Ohio. They had eleven children, 5 of whom were born in Ohio. The family remained in the wilds of Ohio until 1838 when they, along with a number of other families moved to Richland County, Illinois. The remaining 6 children were born in Lawrence and Richland Counties in Illinois. The children were: John B., William Wallace, Elizabeth Jane, Margaret Ann, Benjamin Wood, William Benton, Roxanna, Dencey Almyra, Rebecca Ann, Hyatt Miles, and Pamilla Jane. Hyatt passed away on 12/5/1871 in Claremont, Richland County, Illinois.
