Anna was born about 1691. She married Thomas Brownell about 1712,
There is no birth record found for Anna Burgess. Her only record is the birth record of her son, Ichabod Burgess Brownell, born 17 October, 1712. Because Ichabod's father, Thomas Brownell, remarried 15 December 1714 to Mary Crandall in Little Compton, it is presumed that Anna died before that.
By including Burgess, which is her maiden name, as her son Ichabod's middle name, Anna gave both him and her a record of connection to her family lineage.
Anna may have named her son Ichabod after her first cousin Ichabod Richmond.
Anna's sister Deborah Burgess married Thomas Brownell's brother Jeremiah Brownell in 1712.
Anna died sometime after the birth of her son.
