Biography

The family tradition story: Monroe survived the Civil War, he had come home. Then he, his wife, and several other members of the family were killed while traveling by buggy on family business. The last record found by this researcher is his enlistment in 1862: Leighton Rangers; Fire Battalion of Mobile; Montgomery Guards; Camp of Instruction, Talledega, Alabama.
