Biography
Millie Lee Burlison was born at her parents' farm in Denton County, Texas, USA, on 30 July 1881. She was the daughter of Joseph B. Burlison, 1852–1916, and his wife, Mary J. (Everhart) Burlison, 1854–1927. [1]
On 1 January 1899 in Lone Grove, Chickasaw Indian Reservation, Indian Territory, USA, 17-year-old Millie Lee Burlison married 24-year-old Joseph I. Ray (1874-1957). [2] The couple had 5 children: [3]
- Claude Burlison Ray, 1900–1993
- Frederick O Ray, 1902–1986
- Rowena V Ray, 1905–1983
- Lois C Ray, 1909–1992
- Pervis Ray, 1912–1986
Millie Lee (Burlison) Ray died on 17 June 1953 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.[4] Joseph I. Ray survived her passing for another few years before he too passed away on 18 February 1957. They are buried together at the Wanette Cemetery, Wanette, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, USA. [5]
