Note (2) below was my theory on the parents of Delia and Thomas until I came across the probate of Brown Burt . (This was found on "American Ancestors" site.) It shows he died intestate leaving no widow (no will) in Wilmington, Mass.. Probate date went from 11-6-1824 to 11-1825. Brown Burt jr. asked the judge to appoint Daniel Pratt Jr. to be the administrator. In Daniel Pratts letter to the judge he writes "he having married a daughter of said deceased".
Family letters of Walter Everett Burtt , Grampy and Dad (It looks like they were trying to figure out his parents then like I am now, !nothing certain!)
In my Fathers notes he list's Brown Burt Jr. born 1786 died 1850 as "James Brown Burtt" (? did he typo the name with James Brown Burtt?) B.1837, d. 1908
Family notes show "Delia Burtt" (born 5-7-1797) is a sister to this "Thomas Burtt" and she married "Daniel Pratt Esq." the clockmaker . My G.G. Gandfather "Thomas Cadwallader Ford Burtt" apprenticed with his Uncle Daniel Pratt. Delia (Burtt) Pratt's death vitals show her parents are Thomas and Hannah.(?)
The parents of this "Thomas Burtt" look to be Thomas Burt (born 10-7-1753, died 2-24-1834 or 1835) and "Ruth Stanley" (born 6-21-1757 died 1-26-1798). I haven't found a marriage date listed for them. The marriage info. is from a "Google" search for "Early Records of the Burtt Family of Andover " Compiled by "Charlotte Helen Abbott" The birth and death info. is from the "Vital Records of Tewksbury Mass."
My working theory is that after Ruth died Thomas married 2nd. "Hannah Kidder" Jan.30, 1800. This marriage info. is from the "Vital Records of Tewksbury".
Notes on "Ruth"
A Ruth Burt wife of Thomas died 1-26-1798 in her 40th year, Congregational Church Records

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
