George Adam Bush arrived in Pennsylvania on the ship Hope in 1733. "Michael Busch with his wife Eva, son Johannes 7, son Johann Adam, son Georg Michael, daughter Maria Margareta 9, son Georg Adam 13 and son Johann Ludwig 11." ^[1]

Dorothea 'Susannah' Kattermann married George Adam Busch on 17 January 1750 in Jefferson Township, Berks, Pennsylvania.^[2] George Bush's wife's name is recorded as Susannah in a 1763 Pendleton County land transaction. ^[3]

The will of George Adam Bush written on the 15th of October 1811 in Harrison County, Virginia and probated in 1820 in Lewis County, Virginia names "Margaret Bush (widow and relict of my son Adam Bush) with whom I live, ,, ,, her son Palser . . . . . my son John Bush now deceased . . . . . ^[4][5]

Additional information: LifeSketch: George (Jerick) Adam Bush, a son of Michael and Eva (Plattner) Bush, was born in Zuzenhausen, Daisbach, Germany July 23, 1721 and came to America with his family aboard the ship "Hope", arriving at Philadelphia PA August 28, 1735. He is reported to have married Dorothea Katterman. However, Pendleton County VA records list his wife as "Susannah". One source says that George was married three times, however, no names are mentioned.George Bush took the oath of naturalization in Augusta County VA June 21, 1763. Susannah's name is recorded in a Pendleton County land transaction recorded in Deed book No. 11, P.435:"16 Nov. 1763, George Bush and Susannah to Sebastian Hoover, 116 acres on the South Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac..." George and Susannah probably lived near the village of UpperTract in Pendleton County. The family moved to Harrison County VA in the late 1700's. A Harrison County land transaction:"William Hacker Sr., 400 acres on the West Fork adjoining lands of George Bush, to include his settlement, made in 1779."George Bush's will, dated October 11, 1811, was probated in the September 1820 term of the court of Harrison County VA, indicating that he died that year. Susannah had died before George Adam made his will.A George Bush is listed on a 1774 payroll of Harrison County VA residents who served in Captain William Lowther’s company of VA militia in Lord Dunmore’s War in 1774.
